Massage TherapistHi! My name is Leia, thank you for taking the time to consider me as your massage therapist. I hail from Madison Wisconsin, born and raised. I recently moved to the Houston area to be close to one of my heart's desires, the ocean, and to escape the freezing cold of the north.
I became a massage therapist in 2006, inspired by my passion for nurturing people and helping to make a difference in someone's life. I opened my own massage practice in 2007, and over the next 5 years it grew into a popular day spa, being voted Best Spa in Madison in 2010.
I have always been an athlete, from gymnastics at the age of 3, to volleyball and basketball in high school and a pursuit in fitness after that. Because of this,I began to specialize in sports massage, deep tissue and therapeutic pain relief. I enjoy offering all kinds of massage modalities, from hot stone to relaxation and aromatherapy, even pregnancy massage and thai massage. But I most enjoy deep, specific work, trigger point therapy and really working out the knots and pulled muscles that are causing people to hurt, and helping them live a more pain free life.
It is an amazingly rewarding career, and I feel honored each time a client requests my services.
I have worked on little old ladies who just need a relaxing touch, to MMA fighters and NFL football players. In 2010, I decided to combine my love for massage and athletics by becoming an ACE certified personal trainer.
I am now able to assist my clients in more than one area, offering them nutritional support, exercise education, self care techniques like stretching and foam rolling, followed by a massage for muscle recovery after one of my tough work outs. In 2012 I sold my day spa and went back to owning a private practice where I could connect closer with my clients. It was hard saying goodbye to people I had been taking care of weekly and monthly, regularly for 6 years, but they all knew I had to follow my dreams. I packed up and moved south, excited for the opportunities working with Dr. Dot might bring me.
As everyone in Texas has welcomed me so politely, I would love to welcome you! Looking forward to serving you while you're in Houston!
